Support NHPs in Canada Outside the Borders

Are you located outside of Canada and wish to offer your feedback on the proposed Natural Health Product’s product and site licensing fees?

Here's what you can do:

As you may already know, Health Canada has recently put forth Cost Recovery Fees for Natural Health Product licensing in Canada. These proposed fees are disproportionately high, posing a significant risk to both Canadian and foreign companies, potentially leading them to reduce their product spending drastically or even withdraw their products entirely from the Canadian market. Such unaffordable fees not only affect individual consumers but also small businesses and the overall health of the economy.

Thankfully, there's still an opportunity for you to contribute and engage with Health Canada regarding the issue of excessively high fees and their implications for your business or your role as a consumer. Health Canada has an ongoing consultation period that extends until August 10th, 2023, allowing all stakeholders to provide valuable feedback. Visit this link to use the online comment form. Consider the following in your feedback:

When communicating with Health Canada during this consultation period, make sure to highlight the quantitative and qualitative aspects of the impact that the proposed fees would have. Focus on how these changes could affect your business, including job opportunities, product availability, and any other relevant factors. This can involve discussing how the proposed fees might hinder access to natural health products, affecting public health and overall well-being.

To strengthen your feedback, provide specific price estimates for the losses you anticipate incurring or the fees you will need to spend under the proposed framework. Quantifying the potential impact will make your input more compelling and actionable.

Take advantage of the consultation period provided by Health Canada to express your concerns and insights regarding the proposed fees. Your feedback, along with that of other stakeholders, can help influence decisions and shape a more balanced and reasonable approach to Natural Health Product licensing fees in Canada.
